Kichdri Rice

Kichdri Rice recipe is light spicy and delicious food. It is good for health for any age person.

Ingredients of Kichdri Rice:

Khichdi  Rice recipe
Masoor dal : l cups
Rice: 2cups
Tomatoes : 6 to 8
Cloves: 5
Cinnamon: 1
Cardamom : 5
Onion: 2 finely sliced
Small size tomatoes: 6 to 8
Green chilies: 4
Mint leaves : 12 to 15
Coriander leaves: ½
Garlic paste : 1 tsp
Ginger paste : 1 1/2tsp
Salt: as required
Veg. oil: 1/4 cup
Curry leaves : 3 or 4
Water : 3 cups
Turmeric powder a pinch.

Preparation Method of Kichdri Rice:

First of all wash and cook masoor dal with a pinch of turmeric powder. Keep aside.
Now don’t waste the cooked dal water.
After that we fry the onions, cloves, cinnamon and cardamom.
When onions are golden add chopped green chilies, mint, curry leaves and a part of the coriander leaves.
Place all the remaining coriander leaves for garnishing.
Add salt, ginger and garlic paste. Fry for 2 minutes.
Add the washed, drained rice and chopped tomatoes. Fry for few minutes.
Add the cooked dal, mix well and add 3 cups of water.
Add cooked dal water. Cook it for 8 to 10 minutes till the rice is done. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with yogurt.

Serving:

3-4 People.
