Sambhar Rice

Sambhar Rice is a easily and quick recipe. This recipe is a blend of dhal and rice. Its taste is amazing and makes your tongue watery.

Ingredients of Sambhar Rice:

SAMBHAR RICE Recipe
Rice : 1 cup
Channa dall : 1 cup
Turmeric powder : 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder : 1/2 tsp.
Chilly powder: 1/2 tsp
Sambhar powder: 2 tsp
Salt : to taste
Tamarind paste: 1 tsp
Ghee for frying
Mustard seeds: 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves a few
Asafetida a pinch
Cashews: 2
Onions chopped: 2
Coriander leaves a few

Preparation Method of Sambhar Rice:

Wash the dhal and soak it approximately 4 or 5 hours.
Wash rice drain away all the water; to the rice/dhal mixture add the turmeric powder, coriander powder, chili powder, Sambhar powder and salt.
After it add 4 cups of water to tamarind paste mix and pour into the dhal/rice mixture.
Cook in pressure cooker for 10 to 12 minutes.
Add ghee in the pan and fry onions as it’s getting brown add the mustard seeds, kaju curry leaves.
Add this masala to the Sambhar mix.
Sprinkle with chopped Coriander Leaves.
Serve hot and eat tasty food.

3-4 People.
