Shab Daig

Shab Daig is a Kashmir traditional dish. It is the dish of mutton with combination of beef kufta. This is very tasty recipe which you have eaten through the globe.

Ingredients of Shab Daig:

Shab Daig Recipe
Mutton: ½ kg
Onions (sliced): 3
Tomatoes: 4
Yogurt: 1 cup
Oil : 1 cup
Beef mince: 2 cups
Bread slices: 2
Ginger garlic paste: 1 tbsp
Turnip: ½ kg
Carrots: 2
Roasted flour: 3 tbsp
Green chilies: 4
Lemons: 2
Fresh coriander: 1 bunch
Turmeric powder : 1 tsp
All spices powder: 1 tsp
Sugar: 1 tsp
Red chili powder: 1 tbsp
Coriander powder: 2 tbsp
Cumin powder (ground): 1 tsp
Salt to taste

Cooking Directions of Shab Daig:

Take a medium size pot add mutton, , red chili powder, salt and 2 – 3 cups of water, oil, ginger garlic paste, add mutton, turmeric powder and cook it until the meat tender
When mutton is cooking mean while chop beef, bread slices, cumin powder, salt and other spices and shape it kofta.
Chop the carrot and turnip into small pieces.
When mutton tender and water dries up the add sauce and tomatoes.
Also add the yogurt and stir for few minutes.
Shallow fry turnip, carrot and koftas and add to mutton mix.
When oil separates then add the flour in the warm water and mix it into the mutton.
When gravy gets thick then sprinkle all powdered spices and lemon juice on it.
Serve the tasty Shab Daig with Naan.

2-3 Person.
